Warriors Roll Past Lady Argonauts, 108-69
LEWISTON, ID--Lewis-Clark State College extends its winning streak to five with a 108-69 demolition of the University of Great Falls, in a NAIA Division I Frontier Conference women’s basketball game, Saturday night, at Warrior Gymnasium.
Brianne Kottwitz poured in a game-high 20 points and added seven steals to lead Lewis-Clark State (16-8, 6-3 Frontier Conference). Katarina Gabaniova added 19 points and helped key the Warriors scoring domination in the paint, 42-18. LCSC’s ultimate sixth-man, Jessica Foot, scored 16 points as a reserve. L-C’s bench scored 52 of the 108 points.
Samantha Garrett had a big night in a losing cause for Great Falls (5-21, 2-7). She scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Kim Freeman added 12 points while Brook Rasby chipped in with ten points.
The Warriors, once again, forced turnovers with their press. The Lady Argos turned the ball over 29 times, leading to 32 Warrior points. In the last two games, L-C has forced 65 turnovers.
Lewis-Clark State broke open a ten all tie with a 26-0 run over 7:22 of the first half. In that stretch, the Lady Argos shot 0-for-7 and turned the ball over ten times. The Warriors made 9-of-12 shots from the floor. The Warriors would lead by as many as 31 in the first stanza.
The biggest L-C lead was the final score. Every Warrior scored at least three points.
