Warriors Receive Eight Votes for Top 25
LEWISTON, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College Warriors women’s basketball team received eight votes for the recent NAIA Division I Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday, January 22nd. LCSC received 11 votes last week.
Lewis-Clark State (13-8, 3-3 Frontier) split a pair of conference games on the road last week. L-C lost at Rocky Mountain last Thursday, and then defeated Carroll College, Saturday night.
There is a new number one team this week, Southern Nazarene University (16-2). The Crimson Storm received eight first place votes and moved up to the top spot after knocking off then #1 Oklahoma City, 79-68 at Oklahoma City. Union University (17-2) of Jackson, TN remains second, and picked up four first place votes. The defending national champions, Oklahoma City (17-1), fall to third place after having their 27-game winning streak snapped and North Georgia (18-1) stays put at #4. Frontier Conference member Montana-Western (19-3) vaults into the #5 spot, up three from last week.
The only other Frontier Conference team that appears in the top 25 is #23 Montana State-Northern (15-5). They fell four spots. Carroll College received one vote for the Top 25.
The next poll will be released January 29th.
