LEWISTON, ID-Lewis-Clark State College’s Brianne Kottwitz (Bozeman, MT/Bozeman HS) was named to the 2002 Verizon All-District VIII College Women’s Basketball Second Team, released Thursday, February 21st.

Kottwitz, a 5-7 senior guard, is averaging 11.5 points per game, 3.6 assists per game, and 3.1 rebounds per game. She has also started in all 28 games thus far. Kottwitz currently holds a 3.558 grade point average at LCSC.

Joining Kottwitz on the All-District VIII second team are: Mel Bongiomo, Chapman University; Becky Franza, Pacific Lutheran University, Alison Graham, Northwest Nazarene University; and, Kristi Lund, Northwest Nazarene University.

Named to the first team were: Erica Ewart, Whitworth College; Megan Henrichs, Albertson College; Jessica Iserman, Pacific Lutheran University; Katy Lockard, Northwest College; and, Jeannie Thompson, Albertson College. Ewart played at Lewis-Clark State during the 1998-99 season.

District VIII College Division comprises all NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. Nominees are submitted by Sports Information Directors that are College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members.
