Warrior Receive At-Large Berth
The Warriors (22-10) open the first round against 10th-seeded Georgetown College (26-7), Thursday, March 14th, at 12:30 PM Central. The winner of that game will play the winner of Dillard University and 7th-seed North Georgia College and State University at 10:45 AM Central.
The Tigers are led by a couple of All-Mid-South Conference first team selections: Andi Johnson (14.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 81.8 FT%) and Stephanie Crable (12.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 25 blocks). Georgetown finished second in the MSC is scoring offense, 75.3 ppg, scoring defense, 59.6 ppg, and margin of victory, +15.7 ppg. The Tigers appear to be a deliberate team that like to pound the ball down to the post where Crable can make shots. They play great defense, forcing 19.2 turnovers per game. The Tigers have won four games in a row, and recently defeated the top seed in their conference tournament, Campbellsville, 74-60, to win their second consecutive postseason crown.
The Lewis-Clark State women have made six-consecutive appearances, heading into this year’s tournament, reaching the Elite Eight in three out of the last four years.
