1997-98 Player Profiles

Jodi Benson #24 5.7 Sr. Guard Honolulu, Hawaii
Jodi, the daughter of Steve and Naomi Benson, has been a starter for the past three years and is one of the Warriors 5-4 year seniors this season. In her junior year Jodi averaged 6.9 ppg, 1.8 apg and 2.0 spg which ranked 7th in the conference. With her 39.7% 3-pt shooting and her 78% free-throw shooting, Jodi is a powerful offensive threat from behind the line as well as slashing to the hoop. Jodi’s quickness and anticipation allows her to control the opposing team’s point guard which leads our defensive system. With her major in kinesiology and her cummulative GPA of 3.7, Jodi plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in Occupational Therapy upon her graduation at LCSC.
PERSPECTIVE: 1997 NAIA Academic All-American; Benson has the ability to have great scoring success when she gears her game that way. She, too, needs to look to score more often. Her defensive skills usually set the tone for the Warrior offense.
PROSPECTUS: "I’d like to see her look to score more. We have some guards who are only held back by their own confidence level and Jodi is one of them."
