College to a 77-63 win over Pacific Lutheran in the first game of the PLU Thrivent Classic tonight at Olson Auditorium.The Warriors improved to 9-2 overall, while Pacific Lutheran is now 3-4.PLU held a 7-5 lead with 15:48 remaining. Lewis-Clark State took the lead on Dustin Endsley's three-point play. PLU would tie the score at 10-each on Jason Heutink's three-pointer, but Joey Ray answered with a three-point field goal and the Warriors led the rest of the game.Lewis-Clark State held a 36-29 lead at halftime. The Lutes trailed by three, 54-51, on Heutink's three-point play with 6:41 left. Danny Allen made four straight foul shots to put the Warriors on top 58-51 and the Lutes got no closer than six points the rest of the game.Sudon DeSuze led PLU with 20 points. Heutink scored 13 points and had six rebounds. Drew Cardwell finished with 12 points and grabbed a game-high 9 rebounds.Lewis-Clark State meets Oregon Tech in the second game of the tournament Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Olson Auditorium. PLU meets Oregon Tech Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Gymnasium to conclude the tourney.
