JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Lamar University his freshman and sophomore years, and Houston Baptist for a part of his junior year. At Lamar, his sophomore year, Burnett played in 26 games, averaging 3.3 points, 1 rebound, and 10.5 minutes per game.  

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduate from Texas City High School (TX) in 2002.

PERSONAL: Business Administration major…son of James and Cynthia Burnett. 

Coach Walker on Burnett:  “JB has played at a high collegiate level, so he comes in with some great experience.  He is very quick with the ball, and will be a solid on ball defender.  Jonathan can shoot the three when his feet are set, and is also adept at putting the ball on the floor and creating for teammates and himself.  We like his work habits also, and think he will be a very good compliment to our perimeter players.  His ability to break the defense down will fit well into our scheme this year.”
