The Lewis-Clark State men's
basketball team woke up from a first-half
offensive slumber to put away Corban College
85-63 Saturday night at the Activity Center.
The Warriors (6-0) shot 54 percent from
the field in the final 20 minutes, opening
their four-point lead into a blowout.
"We made a couple of adjustments (at
halftime)," L-C coach Tim Walker said, "and
we executed very well."
L-C spread the floor and pounded the ball
inside, Walker said, getting wide-open shots
on a number of occasions.
Eric Durrett led the club with 18 points,
while three others scored in double figures.
Eric Fiegi, the Salem, Ore., team's best
player, scored 20 points. But Walker said
L-C was able to limit his touches and keep
him off the free-throw line just enough,
thanks in part to the defense of Chris
Pitts.
