BUTTE, Mont. -- After squandering a halftime lead the night before, the Lewis-Clark State men's basketball team opened Saturday's second half with purpose.

The Warriors increased their edge to as much as 30 points shortly after halftime, and eventually pocketed an 80-57 Frontier Conference triumph over Montana Tech.

LCSC (16-5, 4-3) shot 45.3 percent from the field. The Warriors also grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and had a 47-24 edge in boards.

L-C was coming off a one-point loss to Montana-Western.

"We shot the ball better," Warriors coach Tim Walker said. "It's not that we played all that bad last night. We just had some shots go in tonight that didn't go in last night."

All 10 L-C players scored at least two points, and four of them reached double figures. Jonathan Burnett notched 14 points, four assists and five rebounds while Chris Pitts and Jamal Harris each scored 11 points.

Spencer Bishop, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, came up with a game-high nine rebounds and 13 points. His defense also limited Montana Tech sharpshooter Davin Blixt to 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting.

The Warriors will now embark on the second half of their conference schedule. Five of their last seven games will be at home.

"But that's no guarantee," Walker said. "At home as on the road, you've got to play hard every night. ... That's what we'll have to do."
