LCSC men cruise to 95-65 win
over SOU

ASHLAND, Ore. - Senior
forward Mike Gordy
scored 34 points,
including 24 in the
opening half, to help
the Lewis-Clark State
College men's basketball
team defeat Southern
Oregon University 95-65
in the Flagship Inn
Classic on Saturday
night.
Gordy, a 6-foot-5
second-team NAIA All
American last season,
hit on 14-of-17 shots
from the field to help
the Warriors finish 1-1
in the Classic and
improve to 6-2 overall.
On Friday night, LCSC
fell to 82-67 to the
Oregon Institute of
Technology.
It's the second time
LCSC has defeated
Southern Oregon this
season. In a tournament
at Lewiston earlier this
month, the Warriors
captured an 88-44 win.
The Warriors had four
players finish in double
figures scoring on
Saturday. Justin Fraser
added 16 points on
6-of-8 shooting, while
Mikel Watson and Max
Papendieck finished with
12 each.
Rob Comer led LCSC with
six assists. The team
finished with 25
assists.
For the game, LCSC was
37-of-62 from the field
for 59 percent,
including 7-of-13 at the
3-point line.
The Warriors return to
action next weekend in
their third straight
tournament on the
road. In the Fort Lewis
Tournament at Durango,
Colo., the Warriors meet
the host, Fort Lewis
College, Friday at 7
p.m., and then take on
Adams State next
Saturday at 3 p.m.
