LCSC signs
another player from Sheridan Junior College
7-2-07
Lewis-Clark
State College men’s basketball coach Tim
Walker has signed a third player from
Sheridan Junior College in Wyoming as
6-foot-3 combination guard Dorian Watson
will play for the Warriors next season.
Watson, who is
from Colorado Springs, Col., was named to
the All-Region IX JC Team last season after
he averaged 17 points and 2.1 steals per
game. He went 68-of-146 from the 3-point
line, 46.6 percent, and was 65-of-80 at the
foul line, 81 percent.
He had game
highs of 30, 29, and 26 points this season.
“We are really
excited to add a player of Dorian’s
caliber,” Walker says. “He can score the
ball a variety of ways, as reflected by his
numbers from this year. Not only that, he
can really guard the ball also, which fits
into our philosophy really well. Dorian’s
versatility will really be exciting, as he
can play any perimeter spot. He’s a solid
guy who can really play.”
Last week,
Walker announced the signing of 6-0 guard
Brian Duckworth, the Region IX Defender of
the Year, and Kasey Riley, a 6-7 forward,
who were both teammates of Watson at
Sheridan last year.
The three join
6-8 forward Andrew Packwood from Lewiston
High School, and 6-2 guard Mikel Watson, a
transfer from Utah State University, as new
players on the team next season.
The Warriors
lost five seniors from last year’s squad,
which won both the Frontier Conference
regular season and tournament titles and
qualified for the NAIA National Tournament.
