Lewis-Clark State routs Simon Fraser, 86-62
LEWISTON, ID--Jeremy Jeppesen (Centerville, UT) poured in a team-high 19 points as 11th-ranked (NAIA Division I) Lewis-Clark State defeated Simon Fraser University, 86-62, in a mens non-conference game played Saturday night, December 30th, at Warrior Gymnasium.
The Warriors (8-6), jumped out to a 33-13 lead with 6:07 left in the first half, but a 16-1 run over the next 3:10, capped by a three-point play by Simon Frasers Kevin Bryan, cut the lead to five. Lewis-Clark State went into the half with a 47-33 lead.
Simon Fraser (6-14) whittled the Lewis-Clark State lead down to three, at 55-52 with 11:49 left, but the Warriors used a 27-10 run over the next 9:26 to put the game away.
Zach Wilson (Orofino, ID) added a season-high 14 points and Brian Meneely (Kennewick, WA), getting the start for injured point guard Jared Price (Gresham, OR), poured in 13 points and dished out seven assists, both season highs. Ryan Bender (Shoreline, WA) netted 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds coming off of the bench.
The Clan were led by Brent Charletons 12 points. Jeremy Neufeld added 11 points as Simon Fraser were playing without leading scorer Jordan Mason who was ruled academically ineligible.
