Warrior Men’s Basketball Receive 19 Votes for NAIA Top 25 Poll
LEWISTON, ID-The Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team received 19 votes for the NAIA Division I Top 25 Basketball Poll released Tuesday, January 29th. The Warriors received 26 votes in last week’s poll.
27th-ranked Lewis-Clark State (16-7, 5-2 Frontier) was defeated handily for the second straight game, losing 86-57 at Westminster College, last Saturday. The Warriors return home, where they are 8-1 this season, for games on Thursday, against Montana State-Northern, and Saturday, against Great Falls. Both games tip at approximately 8:00 PM.
There is a shake up amongst the top five teams. Georgetown College (24-0) assumes the top with ten first place votes. Biola University (21-1) falls out of the number one down to two after losing 75-73 at unranked Vanguard. Mountain State University (18-2) moves up two spots to #3 while Southern Polytechnic (18-2) holds steady at #4. Union University (20-3) climbs all the way to #5 after last week’s #9 ranking.
Carroll College (19-5) falls two spots to #17 and is the only
Frontier Conference team that is ranked in the current poll. Joining LCSC in
others receiving votes are: Westminster College (14-9) with 13 votes, and
Montana-Western (11-10) with eight votes.
