Hansen to Transfer to Lewis-Clark State
LEWISTON, ID--Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball coach George Pfeifer announced, Monday, April 29, the transfer of Jason Hansen (Notus, ID/North Idaho College/Notus HS). He will be a junior at LCSC and have two years of eligibility.
"When you first see Jason on the floor before the action starts, it is easy to raise your eyebrow notice how slender he is," said Pfeifer. "How ever, once the action begins, you see a player that is always in pursuit of rebounds. Jason is very productive, he can run the floor, has very good hands, and can step out and shoot the ball extremely well facing the basket. The more you watch him play, the more you like his game. He is a very mature individual that plays hard all the time. He is definitely an asset to our team, and we are excited he has committed to us."
Hansen, a 6-7 190-pound forward, helped lead the North Idaho College Cardinals to a two-year record of 29-29. He averaged 3.2 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game, in his career, for coach Hugh Watson. Hansen made 62.5% (75-120) of his field goals as a Cardinal. He played during the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons.
Hansen prepped at Notus High School (‘95) where he was an All-Conference selection. He averaged 12.6 ppg, 9.3 rpg, and 2.3 blocks per game. Following high school, Hansen did his mission in Seattle from 1996-1998.
Hansen and his wife, Krissi, live in Lewiston and have an 18-month old boy, Hunter. He sat out last season to get his family acclimated.
Hansen joins Gonzaga University transfer, Adam Trombley, and Shoreline CC transfer Ricky Frazier in Pfeifer’s 2002 recruiting class.
