Ashley Baker and Napoleon
Gordon became the fourth and fifth
basketball players from Lewis-Clark State
College to earn Frontier Conference Player
of the Week awards this season when the
league announced the weekly award winners on
Friday.
Baker, a 6-foot-3 senior post
from Omak, Wash., led the Warriors to a pair
of victories last week over University
College of Fraser Valley 73-42 and 87-69. In
the two victories over the Canadian team,
Baker averaged 23 points, 11.5 rebounds and
1.5 steals per game. She was 17-of-30 from
the field and 12-of-18 at the foul line.
Baker is the third member of
the Warrior women’s team to earn the award
this season, joining fellow seniors Janeen
Nelson and Aundrea Morrison.
Gordon, a 6-0 freshman guard
from Silverdale, Wash., also helped the
Warriors post a 2-0 record against Fraser
Valley with impressive 78-49 and 100-61
victories. Gordon average 15.5 points, 5.5
rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals per
game. He hit 63 percent of his field goals,
including a perfect 5-of-5 at the 3-point
line.
Gordon is the second LCSC
men’s player to earn the award. Mike Gordy,
a 6-7 post, won the award in October.
