BILLINGS, Mont. – Lewis-Clark State College junior forward Mike Gordy was named the Most Valuable Player of the men’s Frontier Conference Tournament last weekend to help the Warriors dominated the two teams, which were announced Thursday by conference commissioner Mike Walker.

Gordy and senior Chris Pitts of LCSC were selected to the six-member all-tournament men’s team, while Ashley Baker, Janeen Nelson, and Jade Fulbright were chosen to the women’s team.

Gordy, a 6-foot-7 transfer from the University of Northern Colorado, led the Warrior men to the title with three straight victories. For the three games, he was 25-of-37 from the field, 7-of-12 at the foul line, scored 57 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, and had five assists, one blocked shot, and one steal.

He was joined on the first team by Pitts, a 6-8 forward, who was 15-of-25 from the field, 6-of-8 at the foul line, and had 36 points, 14 rebounds, three steals, three blocked shots, and two assists in the three games.

The women’s all-tournament team was composed of three players from Carroll, which edged LCSC 71-69 in the title game, and three Warriors.

Baker, a 6-3 senior post, recorded double-doubles in scoring and rebounding in two of the Warriors’ three games. She finished 17-of-27 from the field, scored 44 points, and had 25 rebounds. Nelson, a 5-9 senior guard, went 14-of-31 from the field, including 9-of-22 at the 3-point line, 6-of-6 at the foul line, scored 42 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and also had five steals. Fulbright, a 5-7 junior guard, was 10-of-30 from the field, 7-of-9 at the foul line, had 30 points, three rebounds and four steals.
