The
Lewis-Clark State College women’s
basketball team remained No. 2 in the
country, while the men’s team fell four
spots to No. 21 in this week’s NAIA
polls, which were released Wednesday.
The
Warrior women remain behind only
undefeated Vanguard for the third
straight week. LCSC is 21-1 overall and
has won 13 straight games, including
seven in Frontier Conference play.
Vanguard,
16-0, drew all 11 first-place votes for
330 points. LCSC had 318 points to stand
second, while St. Xavier of Illinois is
third with 302 points.
On the
men’s side, the Warriors had their
11-game win streak snapped last week at
Carroll to go 1-1 on the week. That
dropped LCSC from No. 17 to No. 21,
while Carroll jumped from No. 25 to No.
16. Both LCSC and Carroll are tied for
first place in the Frontier Conference
standings at 6-1. LCSC is 17-5 overall,
while Carroll is 16-6.
Both LCSC
teams will be in action Saturday against
Westminster in Salt Lake City.
