High’s Pogue signs with LCSC cross country
team
3-1-07
Alex Pogue, a
senior at Mountain View High School in
Meridian, has signed a national letter of
intent to run for the Lewis-Clark State
College men’s cross country team in the
fall, Warrior coach Mike Collins has
announced.
Pogue comes off
of a successful senior campaign in cross
country where he earned his second
consecutive All-State honor in 2006. In
addition, his high school team won the state
title in the Class 5A division in Lewiston
last fall. He was also on the All-State
track team as a junior, was his high school
team's most improved runner in 2005, and its
most inspirational in 2006.
He has also
excelled in the classroom where he maintains
a GPA of over 3.25.
“We are excited
about the addition of Alex to the team,”
Collins says. “He is a former soccer player
that is still relatively new to the running
world. As he gains more experience and more
miles under his belt, he will undoubtedly
get better. In addition, being a part of a
championship team and understanding and
implementing the key concepts of how to win
as a team are lessons that he has already
learned, which will be additional assets he
will bring to our team in the fall.” |
