1-4-07
The
Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball
team jumped four spots to No. 4 in this
week’s NAIA poll, while the men’s team
climbed to No. 28.
The NAIA
released its third poll of the season this
week and first in almost a month, which saw
the Warriors women jump ahead of fellow
Frontier Conference competitor
Montana-Western and stand tied with St.
Xavier of Illinois for the No. 4 spot. LCSC
is 14-1 overall and opens conference play on
Saturday at 6 p.m. against Westminster at
the LCSC Activity Center.
Vanguard
of California, Oklahoma City, and defending
champion Union of Tennessee continue to hold
down the top three spots. Montana-Western,
15-1 overall, slipped to No. 7, while
Carroll, one of three undefeated teams in
the NAIA at 16-0, is No. 12. Montana Tech
gave the conference four teams in the Top
25, slipping into the final spot at 12-2.
On the
men’s side, LCSC drew 38 points to move up
to No. 28, which ranks second among the
conference schools. Defending champion
Carroll, at 10-6, holds down the No. 20
spot. Robert Morris and Oklahoma City, which
defeated LCSC earlier this season, remain
1-2 and are the lone undefeated teams. Point
Loma, which beat the Warriors by four points
early in the season, is No. 23.
The LCSC
men open conference play on Saturday at home
against Westminster at 8 p.m. |
