LCSC athletic teams earn
NAIA scholar team honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Six
athletic teams at
Lewis-Clark State College
earned National Association
of Intercollegiate Athletics
scholar team honors for
achieving a team grade point
average of at least 3.0 on a
4.0 scale, the NAIA
announced Monday.
The Warrior men’s and
women’s cross country and
tennis teams achieved the
honor as did the LCSC men’s
and women’s track teams,
although track wasn’t
recognized as an official
sport at the college. LCSC
cross country athletes also
compete in track and compose
the unofficial track team,
although the college has
officially added women’s
track for the 2007-08 school
year.
More than 400 NAIA teams in
18 sports earned the honor
during the 2006-07 academic
year.
The LCSC men’s cross country
team achieved a 3.26 GPA,
while the women’s cross
country team had a 3.23 GPA.
During the outdoor track
season, the Warrior men had
a 3.61 GPA, while the women
had a 3.41 GPA. The LCSC
men’s tennis team posted a
GPA of 3.42, while the women
had a 3.05.
The men's golf team at
Robert Morris College (Ill.)
posted the best all-around
team GPA during the year at
3.86.
