WARRIOR WOMEN WIN HARRIER CLASSIC Three Freshman Finish in the Top 10 Oct. 11, 2003 LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State Women's Cross Country team won the 2003 Hampton Inn and Suites Fall Harrier Classic with a time of 1:44:17.01 in Nampa, Idaho on Saturday. The 11th ranked Warriors were led by a quartet of runners who finished in the top 10 of the women's 5k race. Freshmen Erica Johnson (Bend, Ore.) and Emily Perkins (Beaver, Wash.) finished fourth and sixth with times of 20:32.17 and 20:36.17 respectively. Senior Lisa Paxton (South Jordan, Utah) finished ninth with a time of 20:59.35 and freshman Taryn Joyce-Mendive (Minden, Nev.) rounded out the top 10 with a time of 21:00.14. The men's team, which entered Saturday's race ranked 23 in the nation, finished second at the Nampa meet with a team time of 2:23:47.56. Junior Matt Solosabal (Yakima, Wash.) led the Warriors with a time 28:20.46 and a fifth-place finish. Senior Calvin Sphuler (Clarkston, Wash.) finished ninth with a time of 28:29.16.
