HEAD CROSS COUNTRY COACH INVITED TO COMPETE IN RACE

Collins Will Travel To Oregon for Race on Sunday

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State Head Cross Country/Track Coach Mike Collins has received an invitation to compete at the Northwest Triathlon Championships on Sunday Aug. 30 in Forest Grove, Ore.

“I was surprised to qualify as I only competed in three races all summer, and even though I did well in the two sprint races, they are not worth as many points, so I didn't figure to get an invitation,” said Collins.

Collins has also qualified for the National Championship Race for the fifth year in a row, but will be unable to attend due to his commitments to the LCSC Cross Country program.

The LCSC Cross Country teams open the 2003 season Sept. 6 at the Whitman Invitational in Walla Walla, Wash.  The team will host the Labor Day 5k Run and Walk at Kiwanis Park on Monday, Sept. 1.  For more information on the Labor Day run, contact Mike Collins @ 208-792-2308 or Mcollins@lcsc.edu.
