Women find others to take up slack

BILLINGS, Mont. -- With one of its key players out
indefinitely, the Lewis-Clark State women's basketball team is in need of
contributions from a variety of sources.
On Thursday night, the Warriors got what they were looking for. Four
players scored in double figures to lead LCSC to a 76-56 Frontier Conference
rout of Rocky Mountain.
The Warriors were led by Cami Kalbfleisch, who connected on three
3-pointers during LCSC's first-half push. She finished with 16 points and
five rebounds.
Sophomore post Ashley Baker (16 points, 15 rebounds) and freshman forward
Vanessa West (14 points, 11 boards) helped L-C control the paint.
The Warriors (17-7, 6-2) are without Nikki Haerling, who had two family
members killed in an auto accident last week. Her point guard position was
taken by a pair of freshmen, Katie Hart and Jade Fulbright, who combined for
16 points and 11 assists.
L-C limited RMC's leading scorer, Jenny Balgua, to two points on 0-for-9
shooting. "That was pretty much Fulbright," Warriors coach Brian Orr said.
Before the game, Orr said that Rocky Mountain donated $150 to the medical
fund set up for the Haerlings by LCSC. The Bears also challenged the other
FC teams to follow their lead.
