Warriors hold off RMC in
overtime

BILLINGS, Mont. -- Lewis-Clark
State survived a sluggish shooting
performance and Rocky Mountain's
healthy second-half surge, beating
the Bears 70-65 in overtime in a
Frontier Conference women's
basketball game Saturday.
The unexpectedly tight victory
came just two nights after the
17th-ranked Warriors pulled off a
huge upset of No. 2 Carroll College
on the road.
"We didn't play well at all," L-C
coach Brian Orr said. "We had a big
emotional win against Carroll the
other night and we just didn't come
ready to play tonight. The intensity
and emotion wasn't there."
The Warriors shot 32.9 percent
for the game, and hit just 6 of 27
attempts from 3-point range (22.2).
Leading by 13 points at halftime,
they were outscored 44-31 in the
second half. Aundrea Morrison got
L-C into overtime, burying a
game-tying shot from the low block
as time expired, making it 62-all.
Both teams benefited from two
strong double-double efforts.
Aundrea Morrison (14 points, 16
rebounds) and Ashley Baker (15, 12)
provided L-C's counter for Lori Jo
Neubauer (21, 10) and Jose Evans
(14-10).
"Even though we played poorly and
it was our second straight game on
the road, we found a way to win,"
Orr said, "and that shows a lot of
character from our team."
