Lewis-
Clark
State
College women sign
junior college post
6-23-07
LEWISTON
,
Idaho
– Lewis-Clark State College women’s
basketball coach Brian Orr announced that
Lacie Titmus
(Orem
,
Utah
/
Snow
College
/
Mountain View
HS), has signed a letter of intent to attend
the school and play basketball. She will
enroll as a junior this fall and have two
years of eligibility.
“We are
extremely excited that Lacie has joined our
basketball program,” said Orr. “In
trying to replace (Ashley) Baker and (Aundrea)
Morrison we felt that it was important to
bring in a post that could step in and make
an immediate impact. Lacie is a
talented offensive player who can score with
her back to the basket and can also hit the
perimeter jump shot. She is an
excellent passer and has a great feel for
the game.”
A 6-foot-2
post player, Titmus averaged 7.9 points per
game and shot 50 percent from the field and
72 percent from the free throw line her
sophomore year at
Snow
College
. She started for the Badgers until
suffering a stress fracture that caused her
to miss several games.
“We
feel fortunate to have signed someone with
Lacie’s skill level and size.” said
Orr. “I just think her injury kept
her under the radar because there is no
question that she could help a lot of
programs.”
Titmus was
a three-year starter for perennial power
Mountain View
High School
and helped lead her team to back-to-back
Class 4-A State titles as a sophomore and
junior. As a senior, she was named 1st
Team All-Region and 2nd Team
All-State.
Titmus
joins two other junior college transfers
(Sadie Short, Walla Walla CC, and Breianna
Gaines, Shoreline CC) and two high school
products (Kenna Reiter, Crater Lake HS, and
Nichole Miller, Curlew HS) in the
Warriors’ 2007 recruiting class.
LCSC went
31-3 last season and won the Frontier
Conference title and advanced to the NAIA
national tournament in
Jackson
,
Tenn.
