LEWISTON, Idaho – Picking up the tempo on both ends of the court in the second half, the Lewis-Clark State College men’s basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Frontier Conference standings with a 69-64 win over Westminster College before a crowd of 1,991 fans at the LCSC Activity Center on Saturday night.

The win was the second for the No. 19th-ranked Warriors over the No. 9 Griffins this season. LCSC is 16-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play, while Westminster is 16-4 and 6-2 in league play.

Trailing 29-26 at halftime, the Warriors started the second half a little sluggish and trailed 40-30 before outscoring Westminster 39-24 the rest of the way. The Warriors forced 19 turnovers in the contest and came up with some critical steals which they converted into fastbreak opportunities.
