LCSC basketball teams remain No. 10 and No. 23 in latest poll

2-27-08

Announced Wednesday, both Lewis-Clark State College basketball teams held the same rankings in this week’s NAIA Top 25 polls as they did last week. The Warrior women’s team sits at No. 10, while the men hold on to No. 23.

The Lewis-Clark State women won both of their games last week by more than 20 points to improve their overall record to 22-4. Although the top 14 spots in the poll remained unchanged, the Warriors did gain 16 voting points on No. 9 Azusa Pacific University and now trail it by only four points. Union University (Tenn.) remained No. 1 for the 10th straight week. Frontier Conference member Carroll College’s 22-3 record kept it at No. 12, while Westminster moved from No. 19 to being tied for No. 18. Montana Western received four votes.

After winning two games last week, the Warrior men now hold an overall record of 18-8 and continue to be ranked at No. 23. Rocky Mountain and Westminster, both tied at the top with LCSC in the Frontier Conference standings, were ranked No. 16 and No. 24 respectively, while Montana State University-Northern and Carroll both received votes. And, for the second week in a row Georgetown College, at a perfect 28-0, was ranked No. 1.

The Warrior men and women travel to Helena and Billings, Montana this week to take on Carroll on Thursday and Rocky Mountain on Saturday in their final two games of the regular season.
