The Sixth Off-season Acquisition for
Volleyball

Lewiston, ID-Lewis-Clark
State College and head volleyball coach Erin
Mellinger have looked to Walla Walla
Community College in their most recent
recruiting efforts. A former volleyball and
basketball star at Ritzville High School
(Ritzville, WA), Brittney Kubik, has signed
a letter of intent to join L-C’s volleyball
squad. Besides being her team’s MVP and
grabbing four different school records,
Kubik was named first team all American, and
the East Region’s MVP. During the 2005
NWAACC Tournament she shined even more. For
her efforts she was named the tournament’s
MVP, and through her leadership Walla Walla
Community College won their first NWAACC
Championship ever.
Kubik, a
6’0” middle-blocker, will join the Warriors
as a junior. She is known for both her
spiking and blocking abilities, as she led
her team in kills during 2005, and led the
team in blocks during 2004 (as a freshman)
and 2005.
“We are very excited to add Brittany to our
2006 roster. She comes from a winning
junior college program and will bring
leadership, experience and a winning
attitude to the Warrior Volleyball Team.”,
stated Warrior head coach Erin Mellinger.
Unlike the majority of Lewis-Clark
State College’s recruits this off season, Kubik is coming to the Warriors after having
played two full season’s of college
volleyball. Five other recruits have been
signed since the season’s end, and only one
of them, Liz Paridis, has had experience at
the collegiate level.
