Whitworth makes short work of L-C
The Pirates (4-1) used a 12-1 blitz early in the first game to build a 15-3 edge. Brittney Bower and Natalie Danielson each had three kills during the run. Whitworth also put together a 10-1 run in the second game to open up a 15-5 lead. The Warriors never got closer than eight points the rest of the game. Whitworth also controlled the third set, leading by as many as 15 points. Danielson paced the Pirates with 15 kills on a .480 hitting percentage. Carey Guhlke came off the bench for a career-high nine kills. Marie Lauder led LCSC (1-4) with eight kills while Julie Maciboba added seven kills. Stephanie Wayt and Julie Nebeker each dug seven balls and Wayt finished with 15 assists. Lewis-Clark State will travel to Dillon, Mont., for Montana-Western's tournament this weekend.
