Bond to play for LCSC volleyball team

2-8-06

LEWISTON, Idaho – Whitney Bond, a 5-foot-7 defensive specialist from Twin Falls, has enrolled at Lewis-Clark State College and will play for the Warrior women’s volleyball team next fall.

Bond, who graduated from Twin Falls High School in 2005, played her freshman year in college at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene as a setter. She then transferred to the College of Southern Idaho for 2006 where she was a defensive specialist. In both seasons, her teams placed second in the conference standings.

Bond is the first recruit signed by the Warriors since last season. The Warriors only had two seniors on the team and both were primarily liberos.

Bond was a track, basketball and volleyball standout at Twin Falls. She was the volleyball team’s MVP her junior and senior season, and also earned honorable mention region honors. In track, she was a member of the state championship 1,600-meter relay team.

She also had a 3.95GPA in high school and kept it above 3.50 at both NIC and CSI.

Bond is daughter of Wade and Tami Bond and plans to major in Computer Science at LCSC.
