volleyball recruit with
Hinrichs

Lewis-Clark State College
first-year women’s
volleyball coach Jennifer
Greeny didn’t have to go far
to find her first recruit.
Greeny signed one of her
former Pullman High School
players as Katie Hinrichs
(left), a
5-foot-4 libero, has agreed
to play for the Warriors
this fall.
Greeny served as Hinrichs’
coach at PHS for three
seasons before taking the
LCSC job this spring. Greeny
and Hinrichs helped Pullman
win its first-ever state
volleyball title in 2005 and
place third last fall.
Hinrichs, the daughter of
Phil and Pamela Hinrichs of
Pullman, started three years
at libero for the Greyhounds
and was a two-time
Washington Class 2A
All-State selection and a
two-time all-Great Northern
League first-team pick. She
holds the PHS record for
career digs and was the team
captain her senior year.
Hinrichs, who has a 3.40
GPA, is an all-around
athlete at Pullman. She was
the starting point guard on
the basketball team and also
starts for the softball
team.
“We are thrilled to have
Katie as our first signee at
Lewis-Clark State,” Greeny
says. “She is a phenomenal
athlete, but what really
stands out is her work ethic
and her drive to win. I
have coached Katie before so
I know that I am getting a
winner, both on and off of
the court.
“As a three-sport athlete
she had a tough decision to
make as to what sport she
would pursue in college.
We feel confident that she
made a great decision and
will be able to play a
significant role in the
rebuilding of this program.”
