LCSC women’s volleyball team
climbs to No. 3 in Region I
rankings
10-22-07
The Lewis-Clark State
College women’s volleyball
team achieved another
milestone this season when
it was ranked No. 3 in the
Region I standings on
Monday.
The Warriors, who were
picked to finish sixth in
the eight-team Frontier
Conference, are in a
three-way tie for the league
lead with Westminster and
Montana Tech at 8-2. The
Warriors, ranked No. 28 in
the country last week, are
14-5 overall.
“Being ranked third in our
region is great for our
program,” Greeny says. “It
means we are heading in the
direction we need to go to
bring this program back to
the tradition of excellence
we expect. Our players are
working hard but know we are
not finished and still have
some very tough matches
ahead.”
The Warriors control their
own destiny, based on
sweeping Westminster this
season and holding the
tiebreaking edge. LCSC also
closes out the season
against Montana Tech so if
the Warriors win their final
four matches, they will win
the regular season
conference title and be the
top seed for the conference
tournament, which will be
held in Billings in
November.
The Warriors wrap up the
home portion of the schedule
this week, taking on Rocky
Mountain on Friday at 7
p.m., and then play host to
Carroll College at noon on
Sunday.
