LCSC women’s volleyball team
climbs to
No. 4 in Region I
9-24-07
The Lewis-Clark State
College women’s volleyball
team climbed three spots in
the Region I rankings this
week after knocking off
Westminster College in a
five-set thriller at the
LCSC Activity Center on
Friday night.
The NAIA does a regional
ranking on Mondays and these
rankings are used to
determine the Top 25 poll,
which is released on
Wednesdays.
LCSC was ranked No. 7 in the
Region I standings, but
defeated Westminster to
remain undefeated in
Frontier Conference play at
3-0 and move to 9-2 on the
season.
Despite the loss,
Westminster kept its No. 1
standing in the region.
Albertson College is second,
while Southern Oregon
University is third.
LCSC lost to Southern Oregon
earlier this season, and
will play Albertson and
Westminster on Oct. 17 and
Oct. 19, respectively, on
the road.
The 9-2 start by LCSC is the
program’s best start since
the 2001 season.
