GREAT
FALLS, Mont. - The
Lewis-Clark State College
women's volleyball team came
up short to start the second
half of Frontier Conference
play and fell to the
University of Great Falls
30-17, 27-30, 26-30, 30-25,
15-12 on Friday night.
The loss was
only the second in 12
matches for the Warriors,
who fall to 12-4 overall and
6-2 in conference play.
The setback also drops LCSC
out of a tie for first place
in the league standings.
Great Falls,
picked as a co-favorite in
the preseason coaches' poll
to win the conference title,
won its third straight match
to improve to 4-4 in league
and 10-9 overall. The Argos
are getting healthy and the
return of senior outside
hitter Brittany Prater was a
key to Friday's win.
Anile
Clemente led the Warriors
with 18 kills, while Julie
Maciboba had 17 and Dana
Christiansen added 14.
Freshman Kim Fong had 34
assists, while Lisa Davis
had five service aces.
The good news
for LCSC was that Cintia
Alessi saw action on the
front row for the first time
in nearly a month. Alessi
has been nursing a pulled
abdominal muscle and had
only seen action as a libero.
She finished with 27 digs.
The Warriors return to
action Saturday night to
face Montana State
University-Northern at 6
p.m. in Havre, Mont.
