PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis-Clark State College women's volleyball team capture its second straight tournament title after winning two matches in the Cavalier Invitational tournament at Concordia University on Saturday.

The Warriors, ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, finished the five-team round-robin tournament with a 4-0 record after defeating Northwest University of Kirkland, Was., 25-15, 25-7, 25-15, and then finishing play by dumping fellow Frontier Conference foe Montanan State-Northern 25-15, 25-7, 25-15 to complete tournament play.

The two victories lift LCSC to 8-0 on the season and seven of the victories have come in straight sets.

Junior Anile Clemente, who earned third-team NAIA All America status last year, was chosen the tournament's MVP, while Warrior senior libero Lindsay Scott also was selected to the all-tournament team.

In Saturday's win over Northwest, the Warriors' second win over Northwest this season, Clemente led the way with 13 kills, while Julie Maciboba added 10 kills and Lauryn Herrick added eight.  Katie Hinrichs had 11 digs, while Lisa Davis had 19 assists. The Warriors also had five service aces in the match.

"We were able to play a lot of people and did a nice job of competing," LCSC coach Jen Greeny said. "We were able to take a lot of things from this weekend and build upon them."

In their first match against a conference team this season, the Warriors were able to take control early and roll over MSU-Northern. The Warriors emptied the bench early in the match and were led by Dana Christiansen's eight kills. Scott added 11 digs as the Warriors were never threatened in the match.

"We did a good job today of carrying out what we wanted to do and taking care of business," Greeny said.

The Warriors will take part in their third straight tournament next weekend when they head to Spokane for the Whitworth Invitational. The five team round-robin tournament begins on Friday and LCSC will face Menlo College at 11 a.m. and Whitman at 5 p.m.  On Saturday, LCSC faces Montana-Western at 2 p.m., and host Whitworth at 6 p.m.
