CDOBT 100 - Safe and Healthy Environment (2 cr.)Essentials to establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment to prevent and reduce injuries. CDOBT 101 - The Exceptional Child I (1 cr.)Provides awareness of children with special needs and how to meet those needs. CDOBT 102 - Learning Environment (2 cr.)Involves organizing indoor and outdoor areas that encourage play and exploration, selecting and arranging materials and equipment that foster growth and learning, and planning and implementing a schedule. CDOBT 103 - Physical Development (2 cr.)Provides a variety of equipment, activities, and opportunities to promote the physical development of children. CDOBT 105 - Families (2 cr.)Provides knowledge and skills to exchange important information between home and childcare centers. CDOBT 106 - Curriculum Development/Program Management (2 cr.)Provides the early childhood educator or caregiver with skills to analyze how they structure their goals, policies, and procedures as well as maintain positive communication throughout the entire program. CDOBT 107 – Professionalism in Childcare(2 cr.)Provides for the heightened awareness of the many areas of professionalism, including growth, conduct, communications, and ethics. CDOBT 109 - The Exceptional Child II (1 cr.)Provides awareness of children with special needs and how to meet those needs. CDOBT 200 - Cognitive Development (2 cr.)Provides information for techniques and methods to enhance cognitive development in children. CDOBT 201 - Communication (2 cr.)Provides the student with the skills to enhance communication in young children. CDOBT 203 - Self-Concept Development(2 cr.)Provides the skills to understand development as it relates to self-esteem and provides an environment which develops and supports self image. CDOBT 204 - Social Skills Development(2 cr.)Provides the skills to understand developmental levels of social growth and strategies to support/enhance social interaction. CDOBT 205 - Guidance and Discipline (2 cr.)Provides the knowledge of basic development and strategies to enhance self management of children. CDOBT 206 - Creative Development (2 cr.)Provides the student with the tools necessary to examine their own creativity and strategies to enhance creativity in children. CDOBT 296 - Child Development Practicum (1-6 cr.)Provides the student with a hands-on experience to work with children, parents, and co-workers in a positive professional manner and an opportunity to apply skills learned in class.
