GBOBT 116 - Proofreading (3 cr.)Provides training in proofreading as well as realistic practice to apply skill. Increases abilities to spell, punctuate, and use words and numbers correctly. Pre-requisite: GENTC 122. GBOBT 202 - Business Math (3 cr.)Fundamental arithmetic processes applied to business activities including banking, equations, discounts, payroll, interest, notes, annuities, installment buying, depreciation, inventory, taxes, insurance, stocks, bonds, and business statistics. Pre-requisite: A grade of “C” or better in MATH 024, MATH 025, GENTC 098, or satisfactory placement scores. GBOBT 211 – Credit Management (3 cr.)Introduces students to credit and its role in business today. Major emphasis is placed on policies and procedures involved in the credit decision-making process, including various analysis and decision-making processes. Collection of debts, both short-term and long-term, will be addressed with regard to applicable state and federal regulations. GBOBT 245 - Business Writing (3 cr.)Development of skills in written communications, emphasis on writing business letters and reports. Pre-requisite: GENTC 122 and GBOBT 116. GBOBT 275 - Introduction to Human Resource Management (3 cr.)This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of human resource management. GBOBT 292 - Business Professionals of America (1 cr.)Any business or office occupations student may become a member of this national student organization of over 50,000 members nationwide to build team-working skills, leadership skills, and professionalism. Students will have the opportunity to compete against peers from across the state and nation as well as attend leadership conferences. GBOBT 296/496 - Cooperative Education (1-6 cr.)Combines academic and classroom instruction with on-the-job experience adding new dimensions and relevance to student's education. Course may be repeated for total of 12 credits; however, individual program limitations may apply. Pre-requisite: Consent of advisor. |
