ID 155 - Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies (1 cr.)

Explores the common threads of knowledge and intellectual processes in all disciplines and provides a student with the skills to integrate a multidisciplinary program of study.  Designed to be used at the beginning of the Interdisciplinary Studies Major.  Pre-requisite:  permission of the advisor is needed.

ID 285 - Portfolio Completion (1 cr.)

Instruction in preparation of professional document of student's life and work experiences that are equivalent to college level learning.  Skills, knowledge and values will demonstrate course competencies for assessment of prior experiential learning.   Pre-requisites:  ENGL 101, 12 college credits (3 from LCSC).  Course offered through Distance Learning.

ID 360 - Leadership - (3 cr.)

Explores the concept of leadership from an interdisciplinary perspective:   psychological determinants of leaders and followers, political factors of governance, sociological issues connecting individuals and small groups, anthropological factors in tracking societal transformations and management skills in the practice of leadership. 

ID 385 - Research Methodology - (3 cr.)

Interdisciplinary course develops students' ability to understand the results of empirical research presented in professional journals and to communicate the meaning of data, research findings, and statistical data to others.  This course integrates (1) analytical and evaluative thinking; (2) descriptive, explanatory and critical writing; (3) basic knowledge of research design and statistical thinking; and (4) data interpretation in simulated settings. 

ID 489 - Senior Honors Seminar - (1 cr.)

Assists students in synthesizing their honors courses and experiences related to research and scholarship within his or her major field(s) of study.  This seminar should be taken the semester just prior to or concurrent with the semester that the senior research project is completed within the student's major.  Students will reflect upon and critique the content and methodology employed within their senior research project.   Emphasis on the production of an epistemological self-critique. 

ID 499 - Interdisciplinary Senior Research Project - (1 cr.)

Designed to provide a capstone experience that integrates the perspectives of the areas of study selected within the Interdisciplinary Studies Major.Pre-requisite: senior standing. 

ID 502 - Readings & Conferences (1-3 cr.)

An extension of the 490 course series, intended as an advanced undergraduate offering.  May be offered within any of the college's disciplines.   Pre-requisitesenior standing or above and the written permission of the respective program chairperson.
