OVERVIEW
Information technology (IT) is transforming college life by enabling the delivery of “anywhere – anytime” individualized education. At LCSC, the IT department provides services that support campus-based teaching, learning, and research by way of technology-enhanced classrooms, computer labs, high-speed networks (wired and wireless), and technical support. The IT department also creates LCSC’s online campus by implementing products such as Google Apps (students’ LC-mail), Blackboard (online courses), interactive video (real-time distance courses), and WarriorWeb (online course registration).

OPEN COMPUTER LABS
LCSC students have access to two open computer labs in Lewiston and one lab in Coeur d’Alene. In Lewiston the labs are located in the library (LIB) room 172, and the student union building (SUB) room 202. In Coeur d’Alene the lab is in 610 W. Hubbard, suite 107.

RESIDENCE HALL COMPUTER LABS
Small computer labs are located in each of the LCSC Residence Halls. These rooms are available to students living in the residence halls.

STUDENT NETWORK/PHONE ACCESS
Students at LCSC are provided high-bandwidth access to the Internet. Key elements of this access include:

WIRELESS NETWORK ACCESS
LCSC has a wireless network that is available to access the Internet. Students can access the Internet wirelessly inside most major campus buildings, and outdoors in the Centennial Mall. Students can use their own laptops or checkout wireless laptops at the SUB Information Desk. Information on this service is available at www.lcsc.edu/it.

RESIDENCE HALL NETWORK ACCESS
Every residence hall room is equipped with a high-speed Internet port for each student living in the room. These network ports are active continuously, and are available to students living in the residence halls at no additional fee. Information on how to connect to the network in the residence halls is available at www.lcsc.edu/it.

OTHER NETWORK ACCESS
Internet access is also available from various locations on campus including kiosk systems located at various sites, and from all student computer labs. In addition, students who own laptops without wireless capability are able to connect to wired Internet ports in the SUB and library.

RESIDENCE HALL TELEPHONE ACCESS
Phone service is provided to all students living in residence halls at no additional fee. Students are required to provide their own telephone, and a calling card for any long distance needs. Telephone jacks in residence halls are continuously activated, so students have phone access from the first day of school.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
HELPDESK
The IT Help Desk provides a broad range of support on campus. Students should contact the Help Desk when they have a problem with passwords, when they cannot connect to the campus wireless network, or when there is a question about LCMail or WarriorWeb.
There are three ways to reach the IT Help Desk:

1. via e-mail at helpdesk@lcsc.edu
2. by phone at (208) 792-2231
3. in person at Sam Glenn Complex room B28.

LCMAIL
LCMail is the college’s official means of communication. Faculty and staff will use LCMail to send information electronically to students. A username and password for LCMail will be provided when a new student first registers for classes. This username will remain the same during all subsequent enrollment at LCSC, and can be retained for personal use as an LCSC alumnus or alumnae. Because LCMail resides on the web, students can read their e-mail from anywhere on earth that has an Internet connection. Access LCMail via www.lcmail.lcsc.edu.

WARRIORWEB
WarriorWeb provides online access to LCSC course information as well as a student’s academic history. Students will be assigned a secure WarriorWeb username and password when they first apply, and from that point forward can use WarriorWeb to register for classes, print a schedule for the current term, get information about financial aid status, check grades, view their academic transcript, and much more. Like LCMail, WarriorWeb can be reached from anywhere on earth that has an Internet connection. Access WarriorWeb as a button on LCSC’s website at www.lcsc.edu  or go directly at http://warriorweb.lcsc.edu.
