OVERVIEW
Educational programs including Special Education services,
Reading Fundamentals (Title 1), Family Education, Basic Academic
Skills Training, and GED Preparation and Testing are provided
through the Department of Adult and Family Education to inmates
located at the North Idaho Correctional Institution (NICI) in
Cottonwood, the Idaho Correctional Institution at Orofino (ICIO),
South Idaho Correctional Institution (SICI), Idaho State
Correctional Institution (ISCI), and the South Boise Women’s
Correctional Center (SBWCC).
Funding: The Idaho Department of Correction contracts with
Lewis-Clark State College to hire staff to provide the
educational services mentioned above.
