LCSC women’s cross country team signs recruit

Casey Hampton, a senior at Bonners Ferry High School, has signed a letter of intent to run for the Lewis-Clark State College women’s cross country team next fall, Warrior coach Mike Collins announced.

Hampton finished in 11th place at the Idaho state Class 3A meet both her junior and senior years and helped the Badgers place third overall in 2005, and second last fall.

“We feel that she is an extremely good fit for the program,” LCSC coach Mike Collins says. “She comes in with some good, successful high school experience that she will be able to use here as well as the fact that we believe she has a lot of potential development in front of her. In addition, she is very well rounded with a high school GPA of over 3.6, so we know she will represent the program and the college well in the classroom as well as the competitive arena.”

The LCSC women’s cross country team has made six straight appearances to the NAIA national meet. Last fall, the team finished 21st overall.
