LCSC Jazz Band to perform on April 23
The LCSC Jazz Band will perform a concert on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Lewiston High School. The concert is free and open to the public.
The LCSC Jazz Band performs a variety of standard and contemporary big band jazz. The April 23 concert will include music by Count Basie, Mark Taylor, Bob Mintzer, and Phil Kelly. Music for featured vocalist Kathleen Gemberling will include Glenn Miller and H. Carmichael.
The LCSC Jazz Band under the direction of Bill Perconti has won several Outstanding Band Awards in the Open Division of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, including the recent 2007 award.
