LCSC has 17 basketball players earn academic honors

BILLINGS, Mont. – All 10 members of the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team who were eligible earned All-Frontier Conference Academic honors, while seven members of the Warrior men’s team also were honored, conference commissioner Mike Walker announced Wednesday.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference team, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing, maintain a 3.0 GPA and participate in one half of their team’s games.

The Warrior women had 11 players on its roster during the season, but one was a freshman and thus ineligible. The remaining 10 all posted outstanding GPAs, and were outstanding on the court. LCSC won the conference’s regular-season title, was ranked as high as second in the NAIA, and qualified for the national tournament for the 11th time in the last 12 years.

The LCSC men’s team also excelled on and off the court. Seven players received academic honors and the team won both the conference regular season and tournament titles. The men also qualified for the national tournament.
