Croft family will teach two classes on Aug. 11 at Center

In conjunction with the “The Croft Family Craft Art off the Grid” exhibit at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, two classes taught by the Croft family are scheduled for August.

The first class will teach how to make a crocheted pattern bag and will be held Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Center, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston. Melody Croft will teach the class, which has a cost of $35. Some crochet experience is helpful, but not required for participants. The class, which features hands-on help from Croft in the start-to-finish project, is limited to six participants.

The second class features Nara and Jim Croft teaching a long stitch book class, also on Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Center. The class will teach how to make a long stitch book with wooden covers and will provide a brief history of bookbinding. The registration cost, which includes all materials, is $45 and the class is limited to 12 people.

The Croft’s currently have their work on display at the Center and exhibition has been extended to Aug. 18 at the Center.
