Free concert series continues with Rosie Sorrels
Protest and folk music icon Rosalie Sorrels will give a free concert on Friday, Nov. 30, in the LCSC Williams Conference Center at 7 p.m. as part of the “New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music” exhibition.
The Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, in cooperation with the Idaho Humanities Council and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, will explore aspects of America’s roots music with the exhibit and several bands and performers will give free concerts throughout the exhibit. The exhibit is on display at the Center, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston.
Other free performances include folk musicians Betsy Vanclief, Bill Johnson and David Roen on Dec. 8 at the Center for Arts & History at 1 p.m.; Irish instrumentalists and folk musicians Potato Head on Dec.15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center for Arts & History; and Jazz ensemble Kartel Rhythm Section will perform on Jan. 4 at the Center for Arts & History at 6:30 p.m.
“New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music” is part of Museum on Main Street, a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), state humanities councils across the nation, and local host institutions.
