Iron Ladies of Liberia will be the next documentary film preview

“Iron Ladies of Liberia” will be the next Independent Lens documentary film preview that will take place at Lewis-Clark State College and is scheduled for 7 p.m. on March 17 at the Library Telecommunications Classroom.
LCSC Continuing Education & Community Events, in partnership with the Independent Television Series Community Cinema and the Public Broadcasting Service, will hold a series of eight Independent Lens documentary film previews that are free and open to the public. This preview is the fifth in the series and the preview will be followed by a moderated discussion led by LCSC assistant professor Jocelyn Parkhurst.
“Iron Ladies of Liberia” is directed by Daniel Junge, Siatta Scott-Johnson, Hanry Ansbacher and Jonathan Stack. The film follows Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first woman ever elected President in Africa, through her first year in office as she faces angry mobs, ambitious political rivals, and high-ranking members of the international community.
