CND to hold Career Connections Conference on March 28

The Lewis-Clark State College Center for New Directions will hold its second annual Career Connections Conference on March 28 at the LCSC Williams Conference Center, starting at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s theme is “Believe It and Achieve It!” and the conference is open to job vendors and job seekers.

Any vendor wanting to register for the job fair has until March 21 to register. The set up will be at 8 a.m. and tear down will be at noon. Businesses can choose to have a display only or also have a display with a representative.

The job fair runs from 8 a.m. to noon and is free and open to the public. The fair will provide attendees an opportunity to interact with businesses, employers and service providers to discuss employment opportunities.

The career conference, which runs 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., is open to anyone looking for a job, students, adults in transition, single parents, displaced homemakers, displaced workers, and anyone who wants to improve their career. There is a $15 registration fee, which includes a continental breakfast and
panels. The registration deadline for the conference is March 25.

Workshops during the conference include budgeting, finance, and how good or bad credit impacts your future; technology skills for getting and keeping a job; getting started in the early childhood profession, starting a home or own business, effective communication on the job, in-demand careers, managing stress through mind/body connection, fixing troubled resumes, how to be smarter than the average job seeker (interview skills), and choosing the right career.
