LCSC announces new student e-mail system
April 1, 2008
Subject: New Student Email, LCMail, powered by Google. Lewis-Clark State College is proud to announce the launch of the new student email system, LCMail. LCMail is powered by Google and will provide Gmail as well as a suite of other Google products that enable students to better communicate, share, and collaborate. Here are some of the features in your new student email account: • Over 6 GB of storage so you never have to delete an email again. • Built-in chat to talk with friends, classmates, or family all from within your inbox. • Import contacts from Yahoo! Mail, Outlook, Hotmail and others. • Quick links allow you to get to your calendar or documents quickly without logging in a second time. With Google Calendar you can schedule your social and academic life, create personal calendars, invite friends to events, and set up meeting times with your classmates. Google docs is great for working on group projects. You can create a document or spreadsheet, share it with your classmates, and collaborate in real-time, from the convenience of your house or dorm. Students should bookmark http://LCMail.lcsc.edu so you can easily log in to your email account and the other services. Username is first initial, middle initial followed by entire last name (same as WarriorWeb). Password is your six digit birthdate. Students are encouraged to forward LCWarriorMail accounts to the new LCMail. Students should also move messages, contacts, calendaring items, etc. to the new LCMail system. On July 1, 2008 the LCWarriorMail email system will no longer be accessible. Online training is available at http://www.google.com/support/a/users/ On-Campus training and other informational documents can be found at http://www.lcsc.edu/it under the ‘New Items’ section. For login issues, please contact the IT Helpdesk at helpdesk@lcsc.edu or 792-2231. Sincerely Jerry Hindberg Associate Director, Information Technology
