Campaign LC exceeds goal by more than $500,000

The Lewis-Clark State College Foundation exceeded its three-year “Campaign LC” fundraising goal by more than $500,000, bringing in more than $3.5 million, according to Foundation Executive Director Lori Skelton.

The LCSC Foundation kicked off a three-year $3 million campaign in May 2005 and the response was overwhelming. The money is targeted to benefit students, athletes, staff, and faculty as well as academic, professional/technical, and community programs.

“LCSC is on the move,” LCSC President Dene K. Thomas said. “With Campaign LC, we have established LCSC as a worthy recipient of large and small gifts, and we are very thankful for all of them.”

Skelton shares Thomas’ enthusiasm.

“This is unbelievable,” Skelton said. “It is such a privilege to be part of a community whose generosity is transforming the educational experience for hundreds of students every year.”

Campaign LC has helped provide education for hundreds of students at what US News & World Report has annually ranked as one of best comprehensive bachelor-degree seeking public four-year colleges in the West.

This campaign has helped award nearly 500 scholarships totaling $750,000 over the three-year stretch. Enrollment growth, endowment expansion, and national attention with athletics programs, are just a few of the things that continue to tell the LCSC story year after year.

“Investments in education are investments in the job market, and a stronger job market means a stronger community,” says Skelton. “We are delighted to celebrate with everyone Thanks for an incredible finish for Campaign LC!”
