LCSC Research Symposium is May 6-8

The third annual Lewis-Clark State College Research Symposium, in collaboration with the second annual Author Recognition Program, will take place on May 6-8 at the Williams Conference Center.

A total of 14 LCSC programs are participating this year from six divisions, a 30 percent program participation growth from last year in part to the Business Division’s involvement this year. Because of this growth, the symposium will take place over a 2˝ day period this year with five keynote addresses, four invited speaker presentations, and a plethora of student research presentations.

Last year, 108 student break-out and poster presentations occurred compared to 57 the first year. Additional programs can still participate by contacting Brian Christenson. Furthermore, divisional nominations for two more keynote presenters are being accepted at this time. This is an outstanding professional development opportunity for faculty and administration. Keynote nominations or interested presenters can be forwarded to Brian Christenson at blchristenson@lcsc.edu

The Mission of the LCSC Research Symposium and Student Research Excellence Journal is to enhance student academic achievement, professional development and award research excellence by providing the opportunity for students to present their research in symposium and the opportunity to publish their research for students, faculty, staff, stakeholders and the community through an online research journal forum. A display of the current student authors will be on display at the symposium. The symposium and journal website can be accessed through this link:

Additionally, a display of the creative works of LC authors who have submitted their work to the 2nd Annual Author Recognition program will be displayed in the foyer of the conference center. This program was a success last year with over 100 creative LC author displays. Faculty, Administration, and Staff can submit their creative works through the program website.

The goal of the “Author Recognition” program is to provide a forum for faculty, administration, and staff to present their publications each year including books, book chapters, journal articles, editorials, conference papers, patents, and media. An annual, ongoing bibliography is available for review from the Library website at: http://www.lcsc.edu/library/author_recognition/index.htm
We look forward to another successful event this year. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Brian Christenson directly at blchristenson@lcsc.edu or 792-2476.
